I don't want more than .55" lift etc. Solid Rollers are supposed to have some advantages, more area under the curve, more flow, way less friction, - all at the cost of high spring pressure.

Not all springs are created equal; just because a set of coils is described as "roller springs" in a catalog or advertisement does not mean that the springs will produce enough pressure to do their job.

Considering that it is the predominant part responsible for keeping all of the valve train components in constant contact with the camshaft lobe, it's easy to see how important getting the correct amount of spring pressure can be.
After the spring has been "broken-in", it is common for it to lose a slight amount of pressure. Once this initial pressure loss occurs, the spring pressure should remain constant unless the engine is abused and the spring becomes overstressed. Then the springs must either be replaced or shimmed to the correct pressure.
But on Kaase's Boss Nine hot rod engines, which use a hydraulic roller camshaft and operate with single valve springs, the seat pressure is around 160lb. On their P-51 race engines, which run a solid roller cam and double springs, the seat pressures are 220lb to 230lb.
